The magic of Moebius – a twisted circular band with no beginning or end AND no seam! Learn Cat Bordhi’s technique of Moebius cast on and then make a one-of-kind scarf. Great gift idea. Pre-requisite: Beginning Knitting or equivalent skills.
INTRODUCTION TO LACE KNITTING (1 lesson) $35 + materials

Learn to knit a shawl using a simple lace pattern. Easy and impressive! Pre-requisite: Beginning Knitting or equivalent skills.
ENTRELAC (2 lessons) $45 + materials
Mondays, Nov. 7 & 14, 6 – 8 pm
Learn the basics of Entrelac – a fabric that consists of a series of interlocking squares that look as if they are woven together. Participants will learn 2 different methods for starting and ending your Entrelac project. Learn techniques to make a great scarf. Pre-requisite: Beginning Knitting or equivalent skills.
SPA WASHCLOTH (1 lesson), $35 + materials
Monday, Nov. 7, 6 – 8 pm
Create a linen spa washcloth using hand-dyed linen. These cloths get softer and softer with time but still exfoliate your skin. What a luxurious gift for a friend or yourself! Excellent gift – add a personalized soap to make it special. Pre-requisite: Beginning Knitting or equivalent skills.
SOCKS ON TWO CIRCULARS (2 lessons), $45 + materials
Wednesdays, Nov. 9 & 16, 6 – 8 pm
Put away your double-pointed needles! Participants learn to join a round, to knit a small tube on two circular needles, (also handy for sleeves and necks!), to turn a heel, and to close a toe with Kitchener stitch. Pre-requisite: Beginning Knitting or equivalent skills.
AROUND THE BLOCK (1 lesson), $35 + materials
Wednesday, Nov. 9, 6 – 8 pm
Learn to create an afghan or a great jacket by knitting blocks that resemble a quilted log cabin design. Pre-requisite: Beginning Knitting or equivalent skills.
MULTI-DIRECTIONAL DIAGONAL SCARF (1 lesson) $35 + materials
Monday, Nov. 14, 6 – 8 pm
Learn to knit a scarf using short rows to create triangles that appear to be knit in different directions. Easy and impressive! Pre-requisite: Beginning Knitting or equivalent skills.
HONEYCOMB VEST (1 lesson), $35 + materials
Wednesday, Nov. 16, 6-8 pm
Participants learn a two-yarn technique, which produces a fabric that resembles a bee’s honeycomb. Easy and impressive! You only work with one yarn at a time. Participants also learn Knitted Smocking. Class handouts include a pattern for a honeycomb cardigan vest with smocked rib finish which you can start in class. A great follow-up to the Beginning Knitting class! Pre-requisite: Beginning Knitting or equivalent skills.
POTPOURRI ORNAMENT (1 lesson) $30 `
Sunday, Nov. 20, 2 – 4
Learn to knit with placing ribbon between stitches. Sew together and stuff with potpourri for a unique ornament for your holiday decorating. Pre-requisite: Beginning Knitting or equivalent skills.
COLOR WORK – BEGINNING TECHNIQUES (1 lesson) $35
Wednesday, Nov. 30, 6 – 8 pm
Learn the basics of Color Work to include tension, reading a Color Work chart, correcting mistakes. Students will make a basic two-color headband.
CROCHET WORKSHOP $5
Wednesday, Nov. 30, 6 – 8 pm
Come in with your crochet questions and get assistance.

Register by calling the shop at (703)-978-2220. Confirm and guarantee your slot by paying with a credit card over the phone, or by bringing or sending a check or cash to the store. Please note that class fees are non-refundable. Every effort is made to schedule you into another class or to meet with you at workshop for a make-up, if necessary. NOTE: During winter months, we follow Fairfax County Public Schools in regard to opening late or not at all.

Remember, you can bring any work in progress, simple or complicated, to our $5 Project Workshop Sessions and receive help from our staff. No registration or reservation is required. Workshops are held on Wednesdays, 10 – noon and 6 – 8 pm, and on Saturdays, 8 – 10 am
